The oldest parts of the inn date back to the early 1600s and records show that there has been an alehouse on this site since that time. The bar is filled with authentic original character and history, with pictures on the wall, original documentation and memorabilia complementing the charming open fire and original flagstones. For the past 5 centuries, the Blue Boar has been welcoming guests in to enjoy its warm and friendly ambience.

The Blue Boar is located in the village of Temple Grafton, in the heart of rural Warwickshire. The inn’s great location means it is well placed to enjoy all that Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and the North Cotswolds have to offer.
Temple Grafton itself is rumoured to be the place where William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway. According to church records, William Shakespeare was married in Temple Grafton church in the year 1582 to one Ann Whateley. The name is thought to be a misspelling of Hathaway.
With the inn as a comfortable and relaxing base, you can explore the Vale of Evesham and Chipping Campden. Slightly further afield, Birmingham is within about 30 minutes’ drive, with the NEC also approximately 30 minutes away by car. The new management is striving to maintain and improve the Blue Boar’s fantastic reputation.
