In the peaceful village of Gestingthorpe on the border of Essex and Suffolk is The Pheasant pub. The pub’s Coach House offers boutique accommodation in a rural location just 15 minutes’ drive from Sudbury.

The Pheasant has views over the surrounding farmland, and there are many pretty local walks. Colchester is a 40-minute drive from the pub and provides rail connections on to London or further up into Suffolk.
