The Fajã dos Cubres Lagoon is one of the most beautiful and exotic of the island of São Jorge.
The Fajã dos Cubres lagoon is located in the parish of Ribeira Seca, on the north coast of the island of São Jorge, and also results from the abasement of the cliff to which it is overlooking and also how the Lagoa da Fajã de Santo Cristo was formed by the collapse of the mountains of the north coast of the island due to the geological formation of the island itself, to the settlement of the land, to the marine abrasion and to the telluric movements and relatively recent volcanisms from the geological point of view that have been combined to precipitate large quantities of rocky matter from the lands higher.
