The Casa del Almirante is a house-palace in Cádiz, Spain, a product of the Indian trade of the city, located in the San Martín square, it was built at the end of the 17th century by the family of the admiral of the Fleet of the Indies Don Diego of Barrios. On the outside, the magnificent Genoa marble façade stands out, coming out of the Andreoli workshop and assembled by the master García Narváez. The colonnaded patio, the staircase under an elliptical cupola and the hall on the main floor still show its nobility.
It is a baroque-style palace-house. In the grandiose façade, modified by the builder's son, D. Ignacio de Barrios, the red and white marble façade stands out, with two sections: the lower one with four paired Tuscan columns and the upper one with a balcony framed by Solomonic columns. and curved pediment with the family shield, in addition to other ornaments typical of the style. In the upper part, two viewing towers with pilasters finish off the complex.
Inside they are worth mentioning: the main hall, with an irregular floor plan with the family coat of arms painted on the ceiling and the patio, with pointed arches on Tuscan columns; an elliptical dome on pendentives covers the staircase.
In 2008 work began to condition it as a luxury hotel.
