n 1996 we started collecting badges and headdresses
of the Gendarmeries and Police and we tried to regroup at least
a crest and a cap from each country around the world.
Following the merger in 2000 of the two bodies of the public force
(Gendarmerie Grand-Ducale and Police) we have expanded the collection
with the parts of these two bodies. The was and elsewhere still is
to prevent people from forgetting the origins of the force.
The installation of a museum by the gendarmerie and the police is now.
In 2005, we formed the non-profit association
"International Museum of Gendarmerie and Police Effects"
(a.s.b.l.) and in autumn 2006 the work of the museum located at
Cultural center in Capellen were able to start.
Throughout this period we were supported by Mr.
bourgmestre and his municipal council of the municipality of Mamer.
After ten months of construction, the museum was able to listen to these dated sizes
June 21, 2007 in the presence of the authorities.
The museum has a surface area of 180 m2, i.e. 520 caps,
80 mannequins and many other historical pieces are on display.
The second eppe was carried out during the year 2009 with
more than 40m2.
The museum now has a total area of 220m2.
