Inaugurated in 1876 as the headquarters of the Lapeana Literary Association and Library. It received the visit of Emperor D. Pedro II and his entourage in 1880. It was converted into an infirmary during the Siege of Lapa, at that time quite damaged by the cannons of troops that besieged the city. Listed by the National Historical Patrimony, the theater has a capacity of 212 seats.
