The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Puerto Varas was built between 1915 and 1918 by Messrs. Edmundo Niklitscheck, Brernardo Klenner and Adalio Morales, in a neo-Romanesque and monumental Baroque style.
The architecture of the Puerto Varas Church was inspired by the Mariekirche Church of the Black Forest Province in Germany.
Located blocks from downtown San Francisco Street to the intersection with Verbo Divino Street. Before arriving you can visit the Lourdes cave.
Undoubtedly one of the most impressive churches in southern Chile.
It was declared a National Monument in 1992.
At the foot of the church is the Grotto of the Virgin of Lourdes.
