The monument is improperly designated as a castle, since it consists of the remnants of a section of the urban fence, which characterizes Silk as a fortified settlement.
To this day a section of the medieval wall, reinforced by cubes, has reached a precarious state of preservation. These vestiges are classified as Property of Public Interest, by Decree published on February 26, 1982.
